São Paulo, May 16th, 2023 – From Los Santos to the biggest gaming event in Latin America! Brasil Game Show has just confirmed the participation of two more international guests for this year's edition: actors Shawn Fonteno and Ned Luke, who play and voice Franklin and Michael, two of GTA V's protagonists, one of the greatest successes in the history of the global video game industry. The duo will arrive at the convention to participate in Meet & Greet sessions, BGS Talks panels, event opening ceremonies and cosplay contests, where they will be judges.

Marcelo Tavares, founder and CEO of BGS, highlights the relevance of both actors and the GTA franchise in the lives of millions of players. “Shawn and Ned helped to write the biggest chapter in the history of the Grand Theft Auto franchise in over two decades, and it is an honor to welcome them into the event. GTA V is among the top three best-selling games of all time and, certainly, Fonteno and Luke's irreverence and friendliness will captivate the audience again and help us with providing a memorable experience for fans."

Shawn “Solo” Darnell Fonteno (Franklin Clinton):

Shawn Fonteno was born in 1968 in Los Angeles. In his youth, he entered the music scene alongside well-known names from the West Coast of the United States, such as the rapper Kam and the DJ Pooh. He gained some fame and performed on tours with artists such as Lynch Mob and Queen Latifah. In the early 2000s, he began to invest in a voice actor career, participated in independent comedies, and debuted in the GTA franchise in 2004 playing Solo, a character inspired by his own life, in GTA: San Andreas. In 2013, he gave life and lent his iconic voice to the protagonist Franklin Clinton in Grand Theft Auto V, his most outstanding role in the video game industry.

Since then, Shawn has worked on other games, such as Watch Dogs (2014), and movies, such as Grow House (2017).

Ned Luke (Michael De Santa)

Born in 1958, in the city of Danville in the United States, Ned Luke has an acting career of more than 30 years. After debuting in “The Bear” (1984), he participated in several TV series such as “Law & Order” (2005) and “Boardwalk Empire” (2013), as well as movies such as “The Nutty Professor” (1996). Luke also participated in more than 100 advertisements for TV and radio, and worked as an executive producer for the movie industry. In 2013, he became known worldwide for playing Michael De Santa, the protagonist of GTA V. He continues to work as an actor to this day.

Besides meeting and interacting with these and other international guests — such as Nolan Bushnell, creator of Atari, actors Charles Martinet, Samantha Kelly, and Kenny James, who are, respectively, the voice actors for Mario and Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad, and the villain Bowser in games — BGS visitors will be able to watch eSports competitions, check gaming product releases, have fun in many free-to-play stations, meet friends and content creators, and much more.
