Let’s be real, we’ve all dreamt of making our very own platformer and Platform Game Maker is turning that dream into reality. Platform Game Maker is the newest interactive tool allowing players to create their very own game experience. With a plethora of pre-made blocks, sprites, 2D assets, backgrounds, pickups, and more, making your platformer game becomes easier than ever.

The developers behind the game, Playstige Interactive, have stated their wish is to “inspire other indie developers to make their dream 2D game”. With all the current challenges of indie game development, this tool could allow aspiring developers of all levels to bring their ideas to life in a simpler format. The developers have also mentioned that they are actively seeking feedback in order to improve the tool further.

When creating your own 2D game in Platform Game Maker, you can add enemies such as monsters from a premade pool of available assets, as well as add game logic like obstacles and rewards. If you’re more into playing than making, you can also play other people’s levels and rate them.


A quick peek at the in-game editor in Platform Game Maker

You can even make your own main menu from within the tool, in addition to adding sounds and effects from the in-game sound editor. After creating and testing your own game, you can export the game as a complete standalone game.

There are a ton of other tools coming soon to the game as well, including an in-game sprite editor, sound editor, pixel art FX editor, and more. These features will be introduced in future updates.

Platform Game Maker is currently available on Steam for just $4.99 and will increase by 50% once the game leaves Early Access, after its initial release on PlayStation earlier this year.
