Game If You Are: indie game marketing agency announces new director appointments

Paul Watson and Phoebe Fung join founder Lewis Denby on the board.

20 SEP 2023 - BRIGHTON, ENGLAND - Game If You Are, the indie game marketing agency, has announced two new appointments to its board of directors.

 

Paul Watson will join the agency’s leadership team and take on the role of Client Service & Delivery Director - developing the agency’s service offering and driving quality and innovation among its campaigns, as well as overseeing client experience. Paul, who was previously the agency’s Senior Client Marketing Manager, will draw on his 12 years of experience across games marketing and client relationship management at the likes of Green Man Gaming, Curve Digital and Gamer Network.

 

Phoebe Fung will take on the role of Business and Operations Director, having previously served as the company’s Business and Operations Manager. With 12 years’ experience in production, project management, and creative and digital operations at the likes of Capgemini, blubolt and Future Publishing, Phoebe will oversee the agency’s systems, processes and business intelligence. Her role will ensure that Game If You Are can operate at peak efficiency and continue to deliver high-impact marketing campaigns that offer exceptional value to indies, while maintaining the company’s organisational values.

Phoebe Fung said: “I joined Game If You Are because I believed in the company’s mission of shining a light on smaller indie games that might not otherwise get the attention they deserve. Since joining, our people-first approach of caring for our clients and our staff has become deeply important to me so I’m excited to join the board to help drive the company’s growth whilst maintaining that core of integrity and compassion in everything we do.”

 

The pair join founder and Managing Director Lewis Denby on the agency’s board. Lewis has 16 years of experience in and around indie games, having started out as a journalist covering the emerging indie game scene in the mid-to-late 2000s, before working across production, public relations, marketing and operations. After a spell as a freelance indie game marketing consultant, Lewis launched Game If You Are in early 2017 in response to a growing need for highly specialised indie game marketing in an increasingly competitive sector.

 

Lewis said: “Since joining Game If You Are, both Phoebe and Paul have been instrumental in helping me to develop the agency - both in terms of its organisational maturity, and the results, insights and experience we can provide to our clients. I'm delighted to welcome both of them to the board, where they can take more ownership of driving the agency forward to the benefit of the indie game community, alongside our immensely talented team.”
