New Kumiho Cookie Rings in Lunar New Year

February 4, 2021, San Mateo, California and Seoul, South Korea - Today, Devsisters adds Dark Mode to its recently released RPG base-building game, Cookie Run: Kingdom. Aimed at the game’s most competitive players, this update adds harder levels for each battle level and builds on the frenzy that’s driven 6 million downloads in the first 2 weeks.

Dark Mode explores the story of how Dark Choco Cookie became evil after being influenced by Pomegranate Cookie. Players access the new Dark Mode feature once they reach Episode 3 Pilgrim's Path. Each level's Dark Mode can only be played 3 times per day. Upon victory, players receive Cookie soulstones to promote their Cookies to a new star level in the game.

Just in time for Lunar New Year celebrations, this update introduces Kumiho Cookie to the game, a cookie coming from ancient Chinese myths and folklores. As legend has it, a fox that lives a thousand years turns into a Kumiho and can freely transform itself, often in the guise of a beautiful temptress who seduces and menaces her prey. Already familiar with players of the popular Cookie Run: OvenBreak game, she’s foxy and mythical. Kumiho must have a Chinese temple for her Kingdom so it’s fitting that new building decor has been introduced. Artwork for Kimiho is available here.
