Dieselpunk Survival Crafting FPS Frostrail Fights Frigid Fears on PC

Developers of multi-million-selling survival game, Barotrauma, revealed next project at today’s Triple-i Initiative Showcase

TURKU, Finland / BORDEAUX, France – April 10, 2025 – Revealed at the Triple-i Initiative Showcase 2025 today, the 3rd party publishing arm of Shiro Games Shiro Unlimited (Northgard, Wartales, Dune: Spice Wars, Ale Abbey) partners with developer FakeFish (Barotrauma) to create Frostrail, the first-person shooter, open-world survival crafting game arriving on Steam Early Access for Windows PC in 2026.

Endure a desolate post-apocalyptic world with arctic temperatures, unspeakable horrors, and one life-sustaining locomotive powered by the impressive Eden Engine. Scavenge underground dungeons and crumbling ruins across the tundra while braving forces both natural and unnatural, slaying horrifying abominations known as Revenants in intense FPS battles.

Collect vital resources, but stray from the train for too long and risk succumbing to the icy environment and its cursed inhabitants. The train is not just transportation, it is a home base, a moving fortress, and the one thing standing between you and a cold death. Only the lucky souls get to continue the treacherous journey.

Craft essential parts to upgrade the convoy and create new tools, weapons, and equipment. Band together with other survivors in 4-person online co-op for a greater chance against the harsh landscapes, ravenous opponents, and towering bosses.

“Step into the dangerous world of Frostrail as a pilgrim of a new order, headed to the northern lands as an act of penitence and self-preservation," said Ez Jämsen, Lead Designer, FakeFish. “Embark on a desperate journey alone or with a group where the threats are high, but the experience is unforgettable.”

Frostrail will launch on Steam Early Access for Windows PC in 2026 with English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Polish, Portuguese - Brazil, and Simplified Chinese language support.
